Hectic Week! --> Stupid NUS staff
This week had been hell of a week for me. Two projects due on the same day of the week; one was a project proposal, which was still ok as I had done most of it last week, the other was a business analysis of gaming consoles, the derivations of their platform and breakthrough products... I was doing the part on Sega. Collected a hell lot of information from the net, and had to summarise it. Hated the summarising job, did it on Monday night in NUS until 11pm until W had to drag me to go home else she would miss her last bus.
Thanks to my newly acquired notebook, I was able to save the history of another project discussion on MSN and read it on the way home on the bus. My brain was super saturated, and it was just Monday night, I really doubted if I could survive till Wednesday... Slept at 1+am on Tuesday morning, and had to wake up at 7 am as I had tutorial at 9 am; worked for 16 hours on Monday and slept for about 6 hours, as if it's enough... Super tired on Tuesday morning, attended my favourite lecture at 10am in zombie mode, trying damn hard to stay awake. Met 328 for lunch at 12 and went library to do my financial accounting tutorial, another of my preferred module. Walau, I think my processor burnt or something, couldn't really think at all, so bloody tired, spent 2 hours just to finish 5 questions (ok, the questions were quite long as well). 328 was sleeping beside me almost all the way... Had to resist the temptation to sleep also...
Went home to sleep from 4-7pm, SHIOK AH! Woke up in a damn seh mode (I always get zombified when I wake up from afternoon naps), ate dinner and watched 综艺大哥大, had a good laugh, and went back to business readings... I always felt more like a business student this semester than computing, had been reading so many business case studies and models, never do any programming, and my IT skills' improvement were minimal...
Finally, Wednesday came, my longest and most packed day, with 2 tutorials and 2 lectures. Financial accounting tutorial was smooth, played a little game whereby we had to try to memorise each other's name, quite fun. Next was business and technical communications tutorial, discussed about inter-cultural communications, damn fun, I loved participating in this tutorial. The tutor was an American who spoke excellent English and had an acute sense of humour, but loved to laugh at his own anecdotal jokes most of the time... After that was Info-Com Technology lecture, the most 废 lecture in NUS, some more got webcast, why bother to go...
Skipped that stupid lecture and went on to continue reading some Harvard analysis on some American company, came across lots of gobbledygook like content distributor and content aggregator. WTF! I had to read every paragraph at least twice to decipher what it was trying to say... Read until 5pm, intended to nap for half an hour, eat dinner at 5.30pm, and go for last lecture of the day at 6. Then at 5 something, received a msg on MSN from my group mate stating that the business analysis report which was to be submitted during the lecture at 6 was not yet printed! Kaoz... So i volunteered to help to print since I'm damn near the com lab.
Realised the cover page of our report was coloured, so tried to find a colour printer. Went to the technical helpdesk of SOC and saw 2 colour printers. There were 2 staffs there, one guy and one lady at the helpdesk.
Nel: Can I use the colour printer?
Guy: Yah.
Nel: How do I use it? (the printer was stand alone with no terminals nearby)
Guy: Just use la.
Nel: .............................................................................
Nel's thoughts: WTF! How to use? KNN, you technical helpdesk staff and this is how you HELP me?
Lady: You yr 1 izzit? Need to buy quotas online to use the colour printer. Here's the instructions to do it (passed me a slip of paper).
Nel: I see, thanks. (It's 5.45pm liao, 15 min left, where got time to do all those stuff just to use the colour printer...)
Anyway, I'm still damn pissed at that guy. KNNBCCB! I'm in hell of a hurry and in damn need for assistance and here's how you offer to "help" me... NUS pay you for fuck man! That's the last time I'm going to approach the helpdesk, scared I get the impulse to spit at the goobye...
In the end just go to the com lab and print the report in black and white, lan lan...
Haiz, really glad all the shit is over this week... Guess I level up a bit liao, can handle a bit more shit in the future weeks, hehe.
